Promise Banquet

The purpose of the Promise Banquet is to raise funds for tuition assistance and other programs while informing the community about the outstanding, Christian education at Marshall Area Christian School.  For several years we have enjoyed a delicious meal, provided a glimpse of what the school has to offer, and concluded the evening with a guest speaker.  Reservations are required through the school office.

The 7th Annual MACS Promise Banquet
will be held at SMSU on Thursday, March 27, 2014.
We are pleased to announce that the keynote speaker will be
Josh McDowell
As a young man, Josh McDowell considered himself an agnostic. He truly believed that Christianity was worthless. However, when challenged to intellectually examine the claims of Christianity, Josh discovered compelling, overwhelming evidence for the reliability of the Christian faith. After trusting in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, Josh’s life changed dramatically as he experienced the power of God’s love.  Josh is the author or co-author of 138 books, including More Than a Carpenter and New Evidence That Demands a Verdict.  Come and help MACS celebrate our 25th Anniversary and hear how Jesus Christ has used Josh McDowell to share his faith with over 25,000,000 people in 125 countries.

Past Speakers

2008 – Michael Reagan headlined the first annual Promise Banquet in March of 2008.  Reagan entertained the crowd with humorous stories and tragic events from his life, a life with the same title as his book, Growing Up Reagan.

2009 – Dave Dravecky followed the next year with his amazing story of making it to the Major Leagues, battling cancer, fighting his way back to the Major Leagues, only to break his arm during a pitch.  Dravecky's career ended when they amputated his arm.

2010 – Kirk Cameron brought the Promise Banquet to a whole new level of excitement and attendance.  Over 600 people came to see the actor best known for playing Mike Seaver on Growing Pains.  He spoke of how to Fireproof your marriage.

2011 – Ken Davis reminded us to Lighten Up and that each human interaction as well as our time on Earth is precious and should be enjoyed with the humor each day brings.

2012 – Don Piper gave us a glimpse of heaven revealed to him after he died in an auto accident in Texas.  During his brief time in heaven he saw people just outside the gates that helped him in his Christian walk.  Piper challenged the audience, “Who will you greet?”

2013 - Alex Kendrick inspired many by his testimony in producing movies and challenged all at a personal level to pursue a true  heart relationship with our Lord.
